About the artists
Master Drummer CARLOS FERREIRA is one of Australia’s most exciting and innovative interpreters of Samba Jazz and Brazilian rhythms. Born and raised in Vila Isabel, Rio de Janeiro, the suburb is to samba what old New Orleans is to jazz.

DANY MAIA, from Salvador da Bahia, brings the authentic sounds of Brazilian music to Australian audiences. A reflection of the cultural melting pot in which Dany was born and raised, her music merges the classic Bossa Nova, Jazz and Samba tunes. A multi-talented performer with an irrepressible stage presence, Dany Maia embodies the true spirit of Brazil.
Brazilian singer, actor and songwriter MARIO BRODER (ex-Farofa Carioca and Funk ‘N Lata) is from Rio de Janeiro. He has performed alongside the legendary Elza Soares, one of Brazil’s great singers and enraptured audiences with the beauty and warmth of his voice.
As an actor, Mario played the role of the great Wilson Baptista in the movie “Noel Rosa – O poeta da Vila” (Noel Rosa – The Village Poet), directed by Ricardo Van Steen.
